Discernment is a valuable gift given to the chosen and elect of God. Having served in a Christian Film festival for over 20 years, we made it a point when inviting others to receive Christ as their savior to fill out counselor cards; then we would give them to ministers in their community who participated in the festival for follow-up. I would be interested to see how many kept their commitment. I never heard anyone testify that they found Christ through a Christian Film Festival, but I know we led thousands over the 23-year period I had been involved. Legs are the longest members of the human body. In the case of Daniel’s interpretation, it is safe to say both legs do not bend their knees to the things of God. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bend their knee to this idol, it was to honor God and to let others know around them that their God is greater. Has it ever occurred to you as a child of God why organized crime, like the mafia, is drawn to Catholicism, their religion of choice? Why do drug dealers and their users wear a crucifix about their neck? There is no power in either to convict them of sin, let alone give them new life. Violent men do not inherit the kingdom. As Jesus was, so should we be rebuking evil and embracing what we know is good and of the kingdom. Children who have grown up in Alcoholic homes have been berated by name calling.
